Dr. Carly Starnes

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Veterinary Specific Credentials: DVM, Ultrasound Certified, Fear Free Certified

Dr. Carly Starnes is a native Floridian who grew up swimming, paddling, and exploring the Gulf and Atlantic shores of her home state. An early love for marine animal health soon developed into a love for veterinary medicine as a whole while pursuing her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Florida (GO GATORS!). She was lucky enough to stay at the University of Florida to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree where she developed professional interests that include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, shelter medicine, ultrasonography, and client education. Dr. Starnes recently relocated to the beautiful state of Colorado a few years ago along with her rescued hound-pointer mix, Tucker. She also has another hound named Avery. Dr. Starnes did recently take some time off away from Redstone to persue shelter medicine and a teaching position, but she missed Redstone dearly and we are very lucky to have her back on board.

The reasons why Dr. Starnes loves working at Redstone are because of the fun and supportive environment, always feeling so appreciated by her coworkers, having the opportunity to work with shelter animals, and being able to form relationships with clients.

The values that drive Dr. Starnes are empathy for others, finding the ideal work/life balance, and putting 100% effort into absolutely everything she does.

When she is not working, Dr. Starnes loves spending time outdoors skiing and snowboarding (in the winter), paddle boarding, scuba diving and hiking with her dogs (in the summer), and cheering on her Florida Gators!
